Work for Cloth
On the happy occasion of Citizen awareness and cloth distribution program arranged by Sparsha Trust, Goonj, FPA India at Mastripalya, when the program was officially started at about 9 o’clock when Mr.Gopinath and the students of MSW, Goutham College and volunteers went into the slum and got it clean of the debris accumulated by the residents. The aculute program started at 11 am at a small pendal erected by the side of huts, with Mr.Narayanaswamy welcomed the guest Mr.Gopinath, Sparsha Trust, Mr.Chandan Sharma, Goonj, Mr.Mukandarao, local corporator, Mrs.Indira, FPA President, KM.Monohar, Head of the Dept, Goutham College and Mr.Ramesh, Gogothri Water Supply, Mr.Nagraj, Toyota Kirloskar, Mrs.Chayadevi, Head Misterees of govt school.
Suprith and Shashikala sang a devotional song to give orthodox cal opening for the program which enthralled all the people accumulated. Later Kiran Kumar a student of Goutham college gave a inaugural speech welcoming everyone later children of Sparsha group, residing at Shikshana Mitra sang a medolious song which was followed by Mr.Lalitha Mukandaran who in his speech gave importance’s and instructed all the people assembled to send their children to the school without fail when during his speech he resisted kannada proverb and gave thanks to Mr.Gopinath for conducting this program. Later Chayadevi mentioned importance of education to children pleaded people to admit their children to the school it was followed by speech by Mr.Nagaraj, Toyota who praised the sanction of the program, who also requested these people to send their children to the schools such that they can work in the luxurious building constructed by these people instead of dreaming about their future life looking at the same building . Munegowda who welcomed all the guest in his speech, stressed about health, food, cleanliness around us, environment also and stressed people to maintain the available water pure & spoke about ill effects accruing due to consumption of impure water. Later Srinivas spoke about the need of education for these migrated people to improve their standard of life which was followed by few words by Mrs.Surekha. Mrs.Indira the FPA, India shortened her speech in which she gave importance of health and family and assure these families that in her next visit she is going to explain in detail about the health problems available in gents and teenage girls for which she has assured of do medication.

nked everyone present, the guest, students of MSW, the community people who during his speech referred about the works done by MSW students who had conducted survey in this slum with the Sparsha Trust to have all detail about the members of the family here. He mentioned in his speech these citizen in the slum spent more money in recharging their touch screen mobile or in consuming liquors than thinking about education of their own children. He said that he had contact with this people since more than a year and knew about the problems these people were suffering for which he had supplied the suitable remedies. He himself again requested all the people to send their children to the schools.
Later all the people of the slum whose family was surveyed by Sparsha Volunteers were distributed cloths which were sponsored by Goonj & Bangalore International Airport who were even distributed food packets to each and everyone.
